- 4 Vintage Soda Crates
- 12 Dozens White Carnation Flower
- 8 Dozens Red Carnation Flower
- Plastic Liner
- 8 Blocks of Floral Foam
- 1 can of Blue Floral Spray
- Pins and Paper
Step 1. Line the Crate
Line the crate with a plastic liner or a heavy duty garbage bag. Place it into your container.
Step 2. Soak the Floral Foam
Before you fill up the crates with the floral foam, soak the foam on top of the water and let it submerge by itself. Don’t push it under because that’s going to create air pockets, and you don’t like that.
Step 3. Cut the Floral Foam
Once the floral foam is completely submerged and stop bubbling, it’s ready to be cut. Cut it to size using a kitchen knife.
Step 4. Place the Foam into the Crate
Place the floral foams into the container. Then cut also the rest of the plastic.
Step 5. Arrange the Blue Carnation
Start arranging with the blue carnation on the top corner. Put all the flowers together, really tight, so the arrangement is kind of a compact texture.
Tip: Carnation flowers are mostly advisable on this kind of arrangements since they’re easy to get hard and affordable. Here, you have red and white, the blue is very hard to find so you can just create it yourself. How? You can either use blue floral spray or put food coloring into your water and after an hour the white flower will turn into a blue flower.
Step 6. Arrange the Thirteen Red and White Stripes
The three containers are going to get the thirteen red and white stripes. Same as step 5, put all the flowers together in a compact arrangement.
Step 7. Place the Fifty Stars
After arranging the flowers, the only thing left to do is to create the fifty stars. Cut star shapes using white plain cards, poke it in the middle using your pin, then stick it on the blue flowers.
And you’re done! Now you’re ready to celebrate the fourth of July with this beautiful American flag-inspired flower arrangement.
